Simple 2 Minute Fix
If you are bothered when you open your cabinet door and it hits an adjacent cabinet, appliance or wall, then you are just like thousands of other people who get annoyed daily. Because today’s cabinet doors open beyond 90 degrees for better access, they can sometimes hit adjacent obstacles. Well, there is a simple fix. It is called a hinge restrictor clip.
Most cabinet doors open beyond 90 degrees to provide more access to the inside of the cabinet. But sometimes this is just too much. Hinges just don’t come with a built-in adjustment for this. So, the fix is an 11 cent item.
This little item fits into a small slot at the back of the hinge where it rotates to restrict it from opening more than 86 degrees. It really is small. It is best to use needle nose pliers when installing these, they works well. There are a couple of styles of these so confirm which ones work with your hinge type.
I know in the picture they look large. Too large to fit into an area within the hinge. But trust me, they are very small. When you watch the installation video you’ll see what I mean.
This is a two minute fix that you’ll be happy you did. I keep them a bunch of these in my vehicle so that when the need arises I can easily make the fix.
Sometimes it is the little things in life that make us the happiest. This just might be one of them. Carry on and enjoy the remodel process. Please Like or comment if this was helpful.
