The other day an email hit the inbox: “Dive into these new denim looks.” Sounds interesting since I’m definitely using more blue in my designs these days. Denim, interesting and texture is in. They are affordable and trendy. You got me, I opened the email.
Blue Denim
This tile is described as an Ode to Blue Jean Baby from Tile Bar’s new denim inspired collection; this hexagon shaped tile is called Sasha Hex – Chiazzo Marino. It can be used on your walls or floor. Its size of 5.5″x6″ is just perfect, not too big or too small. And the matte finish is perfect for today’s more modern design styles. Can I say, affordable & trendy – blue tile.
Design Note: Making a big splash in your remodel doesn’t mean breaking the bank. You just have to think outside the box. Running to the neighborhood store for everything means that your remodel just might look like everyone else’s. By all means patronize your local stores but let your creativity out for a little stroll sometimes, you may be amazed at what you find.
Canvas Texture
The next little beauty that caught my attention was the Diesel Camp, it has a great deep blue color with the impression of blue canvas. The perfect size at 4″x12″ in a matte finish. I also like the way they paired it will the darker grout. However, this is a bit more masculine looking and I had imagined it as a backsplash in a cool bar area. Could also go into a den or study. What about your sons bedroom in his study area. Check out this hot new comer – Blue Esercito I found at StoneTileDepot.
Don’t Be Boring
Ok, this is just plain fun. Stop being boring, standard white 3×6 subway tile doesn’t have to go everywhere. Time to change up your hum-drum hallway bathroom, give it some personality. The Stuyvesant is Metropolitan Style approved decoro denim wall tile. The mixture of grey, blue and white go so well together and use of textures in this relaxed style are fantastic. Here is another one that fits the trending color ranges and geometric shapes – Bardiglio hexagon.
Like finding these little gems. One of my designer friends found a couple more new tiles in the Blu Collection. If you use one of these in your next remodel please share with me.

Doctor’s Warning: Extreme excitement and surprise can cause stress to individuals not accustomed to such activity. Proceed cautiously and consume in small doses until properly acclimated.
